A small-scale farmer on NSW’s Mid North Coast has pleaded with a mate down in the state’s capital for a bit of rain up his way.

The ex-financial advisor from Sydney, who retired up the coast a few years ago explained to The Advocate, that the big dry has really hit him hard this year.

Running nearly 5 head of cattle, a dozen or so chickens, a pig and an alpaca, Graham Vince told us that it’s been tough to watch what the weather can do over the last few months.

“It’s been a hard slog, my 5-acre block just out of Coffs here has seen better years that’s for sure,” Vince said.

“So you can understand why it’s tough to hear about the monster storm down in Sydney.”

Vince explained that he give anything for the clouds to head up his way and quench the parched soils.

“It’d just be nice if you could send some of that rain up our way mate,” he laughed over the phone to his friend.

“You guys don’t need it down there.”

Vince’s friend Adam Silver spoke to us about the conversation as well.

“Far out hey. He isn’t exactly taking out an overdraft to keep afloat,” Silver said.

“Send some of the rain up his way. Fuck me, I’m pretty sure he could water his property with a garden hose if worse came to worst.”
