After decades of corruption in state politics, Newcastle, Sydney and Wollongong (NSW) has turned a new page today.

With the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) claiming another scalp today, Gladys Berejiklian has confirmed she will be resigning as Premier of NSW.

Berejiklian is standing down as a result of the ICAC investigating her behaviour, including the awarding of grants to several community organisations between 2012 and 2018.

This follows long-running allegations about the behaviour of her fuck boy ex-boyfriend Daryl Maguire.

It’s believed her resignation will now put an end to the rolling state corruption scandals, with clean skin Nationals Leader John Barilaro taking over the reins.

Barilaro, the very epitome of integrity will fill in for Berejiklian until the Liberal elect another leader, with a raft of pencil looking blokes in suits lining up for the job.

“It’s finally over,” said a government insider today.

“The corruption will be no more.”

“John Barilaro will lead state parliament out of dodgy grants, brown paper bags, licence deals and re-zoning applications and into a new clean era of politics.”

“It’s very exciting, and it couldn’t be up to a man with more integrity to lead it.”

More to come.
