As statues around the world get torn down and thrown into the nearest body of water, a dedicated group of young blokes wearing black puffer vests are standing guard at a statue to one of the country’s most divisive figures.

Since this morning, three men have stood next to John Howard’s bust down at Ballarat’s Prime Ministers Avenue to make sure nobody from the ‘rabid left’ comes to vandalise it – or worse.

The youngsters, Lachlan Nedly, Julian Peterson and Robert Wave, travelled to Ballarat this morning from Prarhahn, in Melbourne’s Essendon Airport district, said they’ll be there night and day until this virtue signal fest is over.

“Look, you can joke about a lot of things but you can’t, like, take the piss out of Johnnie Howard,” said Lachlan.

“He was the best Prime Minister this country has ever had.”

Julian nodded.

“My old man reckons nobody has come close to him in terms of economic management,” he said.

“I’m only 23 and even I know that.”

Robert shook his head and kicked the dirt.

“I’d die for this cunt,” he said.

“And I’d kill for him, too.”

Robert pulled a brand new flathead screwdriver from his Harrington jacket pocket.

“One of these into an ANTIFA liver and it’s good night.”

More to come.
