Peeking out the window to spy on the landscape below, Betoota Heights local Alan Thompson toys with the notion that maybe, just maybe, his journey to Melbourne has taken an unexpected turn.
With the lush, rolling green hills and low hanging mist, one could easily mistake the birdsview of Melbourne for the rugged landscapes of Scotland.
And though he’d never had the chance to visit in person, Alan had always been captivated by the rugged beauty of the Scottish highlands, having watched at least three movies (Highlander, Braveheart…Shrek?) set against the backdrop of those breathtaking landscapes.
Unfortunately, Alan’s daydream was abruptly shattered as soon as he landed in the city known for its love of puffer jackets, thanks to the unmistakable twang of an Australian accent piercing through the air.
More to come.
