Tesla founder Elon Musk has today been accused of plagiarising the 2002-standard video game graphics of GTA Vice City.
The accusations have come thick and fast since the billionaire inventor presented his newest rich man’s toy to the world on Friday.
The launch of the company’s first utility vehicle did not go entirely to plan as Elon Musk targets America’s best-selling vehicles with the new Cybertruck.
Wall Street is apparently worried by the truck’s ‘futuristic look’ – so much so that Tesla’s share price plummeted 6%, bringing Musk’s still immense personal net worth down by $768m in a single day, according to Forbes.
Shares in the firm slid following the bungled unveiling of the pickup truck, which had its supposedly unbreakable window glass shatter twice during a demonstration by Elon Musk.
The truck’s pointyness and weird-ass shape, however, has been likened to the early 3rd-player video games created by Rockstar Entertainment.
Diehard gamers around the world have come out in force today accusing Musk of copying the cars from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – with many suggesting it has been plagiarised from the iconic Infernus supercar.
Between Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, the Infernus appeared in three different forms, each illustrating the car as a sleek, low-profile supercar comparable to the Cheetah.
However, Musk has argued that his car is completely different because it’s got a ute tray in it, somewhere – for all the millionaire landscapers and removalists on the Tesla waiting list.
