The premier of Newcastle, Sydney and Wollongong (NSW) has today moved to repair his public image.

Premier Dominic Perrottet has been under fire for the last few days after revelations emerged that he wore a Nazi Uniform to his 21st birthday.

While photos are yet to emerge, Perrottet came forward at the end of last weekend to confirm that he had worn the outfit, and that he was very sorry for what he clearly thought was hilarious at the time.

With the suspiciously timed saga taking it’s toll on the man who is looking to regulate the life-ruining poker machine industry, Perrottet has now moved to lighten the mood a little bit.

“No more soup for you,” laughed the father of 7, referencing the famous Seinfeld joke from the cult show that people either love or hate.

The Soup Nazi is also the nickname of the eponymous character, Yev Kassem in the cult show Seinfeld.

The term “Nazi” is used as an exaggeration of the strict regimentation he demands of his patrons.

And it’s that classic gag that Perrottet is now hoping can save his political career.

“Haha, nah seriously, I’m not a Nazi, unless it comes to grammar,” Perrottet then joked.

“Sorry, sorry, I just couldn’t let that one go,” he laughed.

“Look obviously I’m NOT a Nazi, and I’m just trying to lighten the mood. Jerry Seinfeld’s jewish, and I love him”

“Life’s too short to take ourselves too seriously.”

More to come.
