Whilst governments continue to warn about video sharing app TikTok stealing your personal data and potentially storing it in Beijing, all app users seem to think it might be worth it for the horse hoof cleaning videos.
Once an activity reserved for stable boys of low birth, horse hoof cleaning is now a huge genre of video on TikTok where viewers see the up close and almost unnerving maintenance of a horse shoe change.
The videos are usually minimalist, beginning with the removal of the previous shoe, scraping of debris, endorphin inducing hoof trimming, and the attachment of a new shoe, ultimately creating a piece of media that we hope no one shows the Red Dead 3 devs.
While viewers are tuning into this content their location, sessions time, and possibly facial reactions are being stored in an unknown facility for unknown reasons but have been urged it is nothing to worry about as watching a horseshoe be replaced is really worth it.
“All social media apps steal your data,” stated TikTok user Monica Jenkins, as if that could possibly offer any comfort.
“At least with this one I get the satisfaction I need from knowing that some horse somewhere got its hoof properly scraped and maintained.”
“Just relax. If you’re reading this you’re probably being monitored now and that’s OK because this was in no way a waste of your precious time on this earth either.”
