US President Donald Trump has warned that Hurricane Maria “will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen” if she continues to threaten the United States.

In his first address to the United Nations, Trump derided the series of Hurricanes that have been devastating the Caribbean and Southern states of the US.

“People say that this is something I probably can’t fix with threats of warfare and poorly-thought out tweets. Sad!” he said to the world leaders.

“Hurricane Maria will be dealt with swiftly If it comes to that”

Trump’s remarks to the world body come amid sharply escalating tensions between the U.S. and the environment. Both the president and Defense Secretary James Mattis have said all options are on the table for dealing with the threat of dangerous storms.

With Puerto Rico currently experiencing the worst of a the category 5 Hurricane Maria, the president warned that he may be forced to “totally destroy” the rogue weather pattern.

“If the righteous many do not confront the wicked few, then evil will triumph,” Trump said, as he detailed the horrors of what he called the “depraved” Hurricanes were doing to

“The United States has great strength and patience, but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy the climate”
