The Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has enjoyed a taste of home while in Vietnam this week.

On the last day of his holiday, Mr Albanese enjoyed a pork roll or “Bánh mì” as they’re known in Vietnam and couldn’t help but tell his Vietnamese counterparts that they have these things back home.

“There’s a place in Marrickville just up from the Banana Joes,” said Albo to a member of the Vietnamese National Assembly who smiled and nodded.

“They sell sandwiches that look just like this. I think they put margarine on them back home. I think they are better back home.”

The Vietnamese official nodded and smiled again.

“Oh, you agree? Good man!”

More to come.
