“I kept it because I have the mandate to do anything I want,” said the Prime Minister.

“I kept it because I could.”

Taking to social media this morning, the freshly-elected Prime Minister of Australia showed off a 51cm kingfish he caught just off the heads at Botany Bay.

The image has since been deleted from the PMO’s official Instagram account, with the Prime Minister labelling his junior media advisor a ‘pussy’ for caving to online criticism.

Nevertheless, the image has caused quite a stir in the many online fishing communities and from the various New South Boomerstani members of the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party (SFF).

The Advocate reached out to the SFF for comment and they were more than happy to provide it.

“It’s nothing short of environmental vandalism,” read the party’s statement.

“It’s something people should care about but at the end of the day, I’d be surprised if anybody actually did. We’ve all kept undersized fish but the thing that makes this example different is that it’s the Prime Minister and he’s bragging about it,”

“He knows keeping a 51cm kingfish is illegal but he doesn’t care. He knows Angus Taylor belongs in a set of handcuffs but he knows nobody really cares about Angus Taylor at the end of the day. Australians just want what Darryl Kerrigan had and that’s it – and they vote for the candidate most likely to help them get it.”

The Advocate requested comment from the Office of the Prime Minister but have yet to receive a reply.

More to come.
