Raving Restauranteur Pete Evans has been criticised in the past for his bizarre conspiracy theories, which are unfettered by any form of scientific proof or even pesky logic.

However, his new conspiracy theory, linking Coronavirus to COVID-19, may have some merit, claims Pete.

Evans came to the nation’s attention after becoming co-host of Channel 7’s popular reality TV competition My Kitchen Rules, having featured in other TV shows beforehand.

However, the MKR contract was terminated in May 2020 ostensibly due to poor ratings, but in reality not helped by the growing public frustration against dangerous pseudoscience quacktitioners.

In this field Evans is a repeat offender, having at various times promoted dangerous diets, recommended gazing at the sun, called wi-fi, sunscreen, vaccines and 5G dangerous, urged Victorians to not wear masks and called Coronavirus a hoax, before spruiking a $15,000 disco lamp which “can be used to treat” it. For the latter he was fined $25,200 by the Therapeutic Goods Administration.

“Yeah, I guess not everybody can handle the truth. It’s a big conversation, isn’t it?” asked Pete, possibly seriously.

“But even scientists can’t deny this. Look at the facts. In late 2019 Coronavirus appears. OK. First nothing, then boom. Coronavirus. Then around March people start talking about this new COVID-19 thing. And get this; they are both viruses, and they both came from China. At almost the same time. And they supposedly infect you the same way. Coincidence? How about this; They both start with ‘CO’ and COVID-19 ends with 19; which is the same year that the Coronavirus was first discovered! There’s a reason why nobody is talking about this. Think about it.”

Public reaction to the statement has been mixed, with some urging Evans to shut up while others want him to both shut up and get back in the kitchen. Some have shared praise for the controversial character on social media, which has been a useful tool in helping brain-owners to spring clean friends lists.

“Coronavirus and COVID-19 are the same!!!” posted Evan on Twitter yesterday.

“And they are both a hoax. But even though they are fake, they are caused by 5G and Bill Gates and the NWO and the only way to protect yourself from these two things that are the same but don’t exist is to buy this BioCharger lamp. Click on the link to get yours today! Seriously, buy one, I have a $25,200 fine to pay”.
