In news that no one would believe unless it was documented by people there, a tornado ripped through the NSW Central West yesterday afternoon – in yet another disastrous weather event that many believe could be related to our country’s decision to burn fossil fuels at an accelerating rate for two centuries.

Photos and videos from people on the scene show a huge dark cloud covering the sky with the base of the tornado damaging property and causing multiple injuries to local residents.

The tornado hit Clear Creek, north-east of Bathurst, yesterday afternoon – in scenes reminiscent of the 1996 blockbuster film ‘Twister’.

No one has been critically injured by this weather event, but locals say they are a little bit nervous that this might happen again.

“The last thing we want is for the Central Tablelands to turn into the new Oklahoma” says one local formworker from the nearby Newcrest Cadia gold mine.

“I don’t know if the houses out this way have been built to make sure the roofs stay on when they are met with such a rare weather pattern”

“And the only people I know with battened down basements are usually drug dealers”

While the inconvenient words ‘climate change’ have been thrown around quite a bit by the media and environmentalists, Australians have today been given the warm reassurance that this storm was caused by something else.

The NSW Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) has confirmed the system is in fact a tornado, and said there are severe storm warnings in place for much of the state.

“Some people might say this tornado was caused by our government’s insatiable desire for the outdated coal and gas industry” said a BOM spokesperson.

“But after looking closer at the town of Bathurst, we can reveal this storm was actually caused by a 24-year-old refrigerator mechanic by the name of Maxy who was bunging donuts in his Holden ute”

The BOM says that the circular winds generated by Maxy’s HSV Maloo accidentally triggered a catastrophic weather event, as he lit up a vacant car park in Bathurst’s light industrial western fringe.

“Fuck. I’ve seen the TikTok video that was filmed by his mate” said the meteorologist.

“I’ve seen blokes cut hoops before but not since Summernats 2002 have we seen the kind of smokeshow that could cause this kind of weather pattern”

“He must’ve been givin’ her sum”
