The boss of the nation’s public servants has today arrived at the national Job Summit ready to fight for his workers.

Kicking off today, the government’s Jobs and Skills summit will bring 143 delegates down to Canberra to discuss matters relating to the state of the economy and the labour market.

With the unions, business councils, government representatives, and lobbyists all descending on parliament house for the big old brainstorm, plenty of eyes are on the discussions.

Employees and employers alike are eagerly awaiting news on how the people who shape the labour market, are going to shape the labour market.

Plenty of claims and agendas have already been revealed, but the head of the Public Service has since issued one of the most interesting claims.

Beau Ra-Crat, the boss of our nation’s public servants says he is calling on the government to legislate an 850% pay rate for any hours worked on a Friday.

“Traditionally many public servants are allowed a Flexi Friday every fortnight,” said the white-collar Canberra local.

“But that is an oppressive regime,” he continued.

“We are calling on the government to make sure no people employed by any level of government have to work a Friday.”

“And if they do, they should be paid 8.5 times their hourly rate.”

“Octuple time and a half is the only acceptable compensation for having to work on a Friday.”

The government has yet to respond to the claims, but given the waste our nation has become used to, are likely to give it the go-ahead.

More to come.
