With social distancing restrictions easing across the country, Betoota Grove woman Belle Henley will have to look for another iron-clad excuse to brush the stage 5 clingers courting her across her dating apps.

For the past 6 or so weeks Belle reveals she has been able to “easily neg blokes” who come on a little strong, but as she explains to our reporter, now that 2 people are allowed to visit homes, using social distancing as an excuse may no longer be viable.

“You just come across as really sensible, but in reality, I’m just not that into them”

“I dunno how I’ll brush them now, maybe I’ll say I’ve been kissing pangolins”

While you might think online dating apps have seen a downfall in activity over the lockdown period, Chief Relationships Officer (CRO) at Bumble Australia says they’ve in fact seen the opposite.

“People seem to be hornier than ever” says Letitia Norman, Bumble’s CRO.

“It makes sense though, with so much time alone in your home, people start to realise they need that human contact and interaction”

“A lot of people usually fill this quota with flirty banter and the odd hug with a coworker, but as everyone has been working from home, people are losing this connection”

“Friday is also our busiest day, so I’ll be interested to hear how the ladies go now that they have to let down blokes the old-fashioned way – with a simple ‘you’re fugly and you’ve got buckleys’.”

More to come.
