IT’S MY TURN: In local news, this morning police were called to The Three Bean Cafe in Betoota’s Grove following a punch on that broke out between two females in their mid to late twenties. The fight broke out after the women started arguing over whose turn it was to pay for coffee after their morning walk.

Patrons who were eating at the cafe told Betoota that the altercation began when the women both reached for their wallets simultaneously, each equally determined to shout the other’s coffee.

What started as a friendly tussle of whose debit cards could tap the card machine first, quickly escalated into a full-blown brawl, with tables overturned and sourdough bread used as weapons.

“I’ve never seen anything like it,” said barista Tim Dwan, who ducked behind the counter as the scuffle unfolded.”One moment they were all ‘No, let me get this,’ and the next, it was like a scene from WWE”

When the police arrived at the scene, they had difficulty intervening, telling Betoota, “This isn’t the first time we’ve had to break up a ‘whose turn is it’ coffee brawl.”

Both women have since apologised profusely to each other and everyone in the café, promising to never let such a kind-hearted dispute escalate again.

More to come.
