The denizens the town’s leafy Betoota Grove enclave seem to be avid baseball fans, as an ever-growing number of MBL hats have been spotted in the area.

Speaking to The Advocate this morning, local Grovian Richard Clarris attempted to explain why baseball hats have multiplied like Catholics like the area.

“They seem to be the must-have accessory for the private school alumni types, don’t they?” he chortled.

“Too be frank with you, I’m not sure why, though. Perhaps because it’s a bit worldly? A bit foreign? Or American celebrities are often seen wearing them? I wouldn’t have the slightest,”

“One thing I do know is that they’re here to stay.”

Our reporter considered briefly to find another opinion on this non-story but ultimately decided it’d be a waste of time and the care factor was close to nil.

More not coming.
