A Betoota Ponds bloke has lost all respect from his mates for making what might possibly be the biggest blunder a tradie can make, it’s reported.

Steve Haynes [28] left his mates less than impressed when he’d rocked up to the worksite this morning with a Staffy he’d adopted from the RSPCA, which he’d failed to name something hyper masculine – going completely against the rules of being a Queensland tradie who owns a bully breed.

According to the QLD Tradesman Network, to be a qualified tradie, one must be paying off a very large suburban home, have multiple vehicles, and if you have a bully breed, it must be named after an auto part (Diesel, Turbo, Tank, Axel), something to do with guns (Pistol, Glock, Gunner) OR be something equally masculine and intimidating (Rocky, Duke, Bear & Zeus will suffice).

If a tradie doesn’t comply with these rules, they can expect to be mercilessly ridiculed and even accused of being a ‘soft cock’ – which has unfortunately happened to Steve today, after his coworkers discovered his new pet was named Cooper.

“Cooper? That’s ridiculous”, says Davin, who has Rottie mix named Apollo.

“May as well of named him Tinkerbell”, adds Josh, who’s grey Staffy has the very original name, ‘Blue.’

“What a stupid name”, agrees Draxler.

More to come.
