A moderately hungover local man has today caught himself humming along to a number of Taylor Swift songs – despite spending a lengthy period of time pretending he wasn’t a big fan of the US megastar.

Lying on the couch with the remnants of some deep fried chicken festering away on the coffee table and a smearing of oil soaking into his chin and cheeks, Brett Wilson had simply been trying to watch a bit of Sunday arvo footy when the melodies first crept up on him.

‘You belong with meee, eeeee, eeee’ was reportedly the first set of lyrics that rolled off Brett’s tongue, as his Swiftie girlfriend indulged in her 5th spin of the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) on Disney+.’

With a smile and a gentle scratch of her hungover boyfriend’s head, Brett’s girlfriend laughed at finally cracking the big fella.

“Standing by and waiting at your back door,” he continued, releasing the inhibitions and just getting into the Tay Tay spirit.

The brief burst of song continued until he murmured, ‘shottttttt’ after watching a big hit in the footy.

“Big shot,” he followed up, re-focusing his energy on his more traditional form of Sunday arvo entertainment.

His focus then reportedly shifted back to the games implication on his SuperCoach team for a short period of time, until Taylor’s Version of I Knew You Were Trouble came on Disney+.

“Trouble, trouble, trouble,” he continued, coming in with a slight head wobble.

It’s unknown what the new found acceptance of Tay Tay will mean for Brett, but it’s believed he may be singing along a bit more moving forward.

More to come.
