Kanye West has revealed the name and release date of his seventh studio album today, in a shock announcement on Chicago hip-hop station, WGCI 107.5

The album is set to be released in the very near future, by the end of next week in fact.

“Ye has got something special for ya’ll. It’s a Christmas album with a Yeezus spin,”

West has stated that the album was originally meant to be another G.O.O.D Music collaboration with his fellow label signees: Big Sean, Pusha T, Mos Def and vocalist John Legend. However upon a collaboration with Mariah Carey earlier this year, West says he got to thinking about the success that can be achieved through an iconic Christmas album.

“Mariah was the first to break through with this Christmas shit in ’94, I’m a good Christian boy… I thought I may as well try it out my damn self,”

The album, set to be placed on the digital shelves by December 17th, will be titled ‘YeezMas’ and will carry all elements of a traditional Christmas album, however West states that a lot of the nativity and Christian themes will be replaced with a narrative surrounding “The Birth of Baby Yeezus”- as opposed to the traditional stories surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ.

“My last album made it clear, I am bigger than God. [Kim Kardashian] and I are more recognisable than Joseph and Mary. My discography is just as important, if not more important than the New Testament!”

He has stated that his understands he may offend a lot of people with this album, including his own fans – but in true Kanye fashion, he writes that off as another hurdle in his illustrious career.

“You honestly don’t think I worry about this stuff do you? My last album was called YEEZUS! I posed on a crucifix shaped like a ‘Y’. There is nothing I can’t do. I am famous, I am rich and… I am about to own Christmas,”

“People will remember 2014 as the year everything changed.”

Mr West’s belief in himself has really shown through in the track listing to this album, many of which have been briefly appearing as leaks on Youtube and SoundCloud over the last 24 hours.
