Despite having a freshly renovated bathroom, local woman Nastasia Smythe has today been forced to take a crowbar to her vanity in order to make space for her new Dyson hairdryer.

Nastasia purchased a Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer, but unbeknownst to her, the compact hairdryer and its five superfluous attachments comes packed in about 10 kilograms of bulky, unnecessary packaging. Packaging that is too large to fit in any average person’s bathroom.

As the packaging acts as a home for the attachments, Nastasia was left with no choice other than to build an entirely new cabinet.

As the Advocate spoke with Nastasia, she was in the throes of speaking with a number of local cabinet makers, after realising her DIY crowbar attack wasn’t going to cut it.

“Is $6000 a reasonable quote?”

“It seems like a lot, but they assured me it’s what all the other people who’ve ran into this Dyson problem have done”

According to Julian from Huskisson’s Hardwood, the Dyson-caused remodel scam is his biggest money maker at the moment.

“Oh mate, you won’t believe how many of these cabinets I’ve done. It’s crazy to me though, just chuck out the dumb box?”

“If you don’t use those other attachments why bother keeping them at all?”

Julian asking the big questions indeed, the answer though remains to be seen.

More to come.
