A local woman has this week used the chilly weather as an excuse to not only avoid the gym at all costs, but to eat her weight in carbohydrates.

Ness Townsend [25] was reportedly doing well with her commitment to eating healthy, which had admittedly been quite difficult, seeing as she often spent a good portion of her week out socialising with friends, frequenting restaurants and drinking far too much wine.

After a particularly packed week saw her not only blowing over $300 on ‘dining out’ as her commbank app reported, Ness had decided it was time to go back to packed sandwiches and home cooking. A promise that lasted roughly ten days before she spotted one of her coworkers tucking into a pork wonton laksa.

Now with the temperatures plummeting to a low 12 degrees during the day, Ness finds herself entering hibernation mode – and she refuses to feel guilty about it.

“It’s called intuitive eating”, says Ness, tucking into the fourth cup of mac and cheese she’s had that day, “I’m just listening to what my body wants

“We’re supposed to gain some weight during winter anyway.”

More to come.
