A local mum has today loudly voiced her disapproval, after daring to venture outside of her comfort zone and go to a restaurant.

Talked into it by her daughter, who’d grown weary of her mother complaining she was bored all the time (oh how the turn tables), Zena had suggested taking her for meal at her favourite restaurant, ‘The Curly Shrew’, for something different.

Zena has also generously offered to pay, as the last time her mum had someone else cook a meal for her, it had been a 2019 trip to the Gold Coast.

But as usual, it’s proved impossible to please her mother, who was unimpressed by the fact that she has to wait more than ten minutes for food, the complexity of the food prepared and the price of everything, – mind you, she was not paying for a single thing.

“$30 for PASTA, that’s a rip off.”

“I could make the same meal at home for much cheaper.”

Biting her tongue so as not to inform her mum that ‘yeah duh that’s how restaurants work’, Zena instead just agrees that it is a bit steep.

“Why are they taking so long, are they butchering the cow out the back?”

“I swear that couple got in after us and they have their meal already.”

When they finally get their meal after a torturous fifteen minutes of waiting, Zena’s mum doubles down with her criticism.

“Yeah, I could have cooked this.”

More to come.
