Luke McDonald should probably update his LinkedIn today.

The 28-year-old creative from the French Quarter lists his current occupation as a ‘Freelance Filmmaker and Editor’ but his friends have told The Advocate that it should be updated to ‘Bullshit Artist.’

The calls for the change come after McDonald tried to tell the group he was with last night that he always thought the Kings of Leon were an average musical act.

While enjoying a couple of Betoota Bitters with the bunch of friends, the classic “Sex is On Fire’ track came on at the pub.

McDonald, in a seemingly ironic tone, told the group he actually never liked the band from one of the spiritual homes of music, Nashville, Tennessee.

“[ha ha] I can’t believe how much all you pop slaves used to love these fucks,” he began.

His friends, laughing the comment off, gave him a ‘Shuttt upppppp’ before trying to resume the conversation they were previously engaged in.

“Nah seriously though. You guys used to all love this shit. They are so cheap, so poppy,” McDonald continued.

At which point, a couple of attendees decided to light him up.

“Get fucked Luke,” was the first retort from longtime friend Duncan.

“I’ve literally been in the car with you when played the whole Aha Shake Heartbreak album back-to-back,” he said.

“And that house party. When you took the phone out of that poor girl’s hands and played ‘Use Somebody.’ That was only like 2 years okay. Give us a break,” Duncan said.

Duncan then explained to the Advocate that Kings Of Leon obviously weren’t the band of a generation, but there was no point trying to rewrite history and pretend you didn’t enjoy their soiree’s on the charts.

More to come.
