Local GWS foundation member Lewis Druitt (35) has absolutely fucked the chook this morning.

After an emotional weekend watching the Richmond Tigers absolutely ambush the Giants with a record beat down in the Grand Final, Lewis has also just learnt some vital information that most tourists should probably know about Melbourne .

The Little Expansion Team That Could quickly became the Little Expansion Team That Could Not, as the Richmond Tigers ran riot after a tight first quarter.

Unfortunately for all the young Western Sydney families traveling to the G for the first time, the locals went onto claim the premiership with a 17.12 (114) to 3.7 (25) – a historic defeat.

Like most GWS fans, Lewis only decided to book flights to the ‘Big Dance’ at the last minute, after paying cash for some nosebleed tickets he was able to get hold of via some bloke he knows who knows a club sponsor.

With a family of four rowdy Auskick prodigies in tow, the Victa Lawn Mower sales director has just endured a weekend they’d prefer to forget.

But this city is not done with Lewis yet. He’s just realised why the Monday morning return flights were ‘relatively cheap’ compared to the others on sale after the Grand Final weekend.

Even when taking into account the the typical airline price gauging, Lewis just assumed he got lucky. That was until five minutes ago.

“Sir, your flight leaves from Avalon” said the chirpy budget airline representative.

“This is Tullamarine”

“You might make it if you can get [your entire family of hungry, heartbroken little footy fans to this city’s lesser publicised 2nd airport] in the next 33 minutes”
