David Warner is once again having fingers pointed at him today.
This time, it’s the Cronulla Sharks who are blaming the former Australian cricket vice captain, for all of their woes, after enduring one of the worst weeks in the club’s history.
The NRL club were this week issued with an $800,000 fine while coach Shane Flanagan is set to be deregistered by the NRL for allegedly violating the terms of his controversial 2014 peptides ban.
Amid earlier fears that the embattled 2016 premiers could be forced to relocate to Perth, the club has 100% blamed David Warner, who has been thrown under the bus for the second time in as many days.
“Yep. It was Warner. Even when it was Steven Dank, I knew it was Warner” says Sharks Chairman Dino Mezzatesta.
This comes as former Australia opening bat Cameron Bancroft snitched to Gilly saying he felt pressured to “fit in” when David Warner asked him to tamper with the ball in the infamous sandpaper incident in Cape Town.
Bancroft found himself at the centre of the ball-tampering scandal that rocked Australian cricket during a Test match against South Africa earlier in 2018, which led to 12-month bans for Warner and captain Steve Smith, and a nine-month suspension for himself.
