Colgate-Palmolive Company have this week announced the successful completion of a strong financial year in 2017, with E.P.S. reaching $.52 per diluted share in the fourth quarter, an increase of 13% versus the year-ago period.
The American worldwide consumer products company has continued strong sales in household, health care and personal products, such as soaps, detergents, and oral hygiene products as well as a new line of amphetamine-based toothpaste, popular in the Australian freight and courier industries.
Colgate’s new ‘Truckies Toothpaste’ has been one of the companies highest-selling products since being stocked in regional servo-diners across the country, with many trucking companies reporting a historic boost in productivity.
Local Betoota truckie, Glen Kirkpatrick (55) says he hasn’t been meeting deadlines like this since Carl Williams was getting around the streets of Hillside in Melbourne.
“Well it’s a long straight road and the engine is weak… But, luckily I haven’t been thinking for a long night’s sleep for a while”
“This truckies toothpaste keeps me truckin'” he said.
Glen says after a couple slugs of the new Colgate product last week he got halfway from Townsville to Melbourne prefer he realised he’d left his trailer back up North.
“I just rub it on my gums with my index finger and I don’t stop for 12 hours”
