In another blink and you miss it moment, local superstar Ash Barty has moved into the quarter-finals of the Australian Open.

The World Number 1 swept aside American up and comer Anna Anisimova in straight sets, marking her fourth consecutive comfortable victory of the tournament.

She previously dispatched of 30th seed Camilla Giorgi 6-2, 6-3, Italian Bronzetti 6-1, 6-1 and Ukrainian Tsurenko 6-0, 6-1.

While the quick matches bode well for her prospects going forward in the Grand Slam, it has come as a bit of a nuisance for Betoota Heights mother Ronda Williams.

For the 3rd time in a row, Ronda says she has missed most of the Barty Party.

“She rolled through the first set nicely, and I just thought I’d get up and check the Spag Bol,” explained.

“Granted I needed to put a bit more salt in there and pour myself a glass of wine”

“But as I start walking back into the lounge room I hear the dulcet tones of Jim Courier asking questions,” said Ronda, explaining the realisation that she had missed out once again.

“I spend all day looking forward to these games and then I just get to see an interview with Jim and Ash,” she laughed.

“They almost go longer than the games.”

“It’s like watching an Ashes test match,” she laughed.

“Pop out of the room to do something and it’s all over.”

“I’m not complaining though.”

“Ash long as the Barty Party rolls on!”
