A long suffering Rugby League fan has today decided to commit to another year of pain and misery.

Local Betoota Heights plumber Joseph ‘Cherry’ Thompson says, like the NRL season – he’s ready to go round again.

The Channel Country man who supports the Wests Tigers for some reason unbeknownst to even himself, says he’s going to get behind his team one last time.

“This is it for me,” sighed Cherry this morning.

“My Tigers fandom, and my SuperCoach career.”

“I’m going to give SuperCoach one last proper crack,” explained the man who finished a dismal 7th in his 8 man fantasy rugby league last year.

“Don’t worry though, I’m not gonna get carried away this time. I’m gonna play with my head and not my heart,” explained the man who famously took Luke Brooks in the second round of his SuperCoach draft 4 years ago.

“I’m a numbers guy this year. Think Moneyball.”

“That young Rugby gun the Dolphins have got, fringe young first graders with huge upside. Positional switches like Ray Stone to lock up at Redcliffe.”

When asked about the team he supports that he has no control over, Cherry says he’s giving the Tigers one last chance.

“Nah seriously, we’ve got a stacked squad and a new era has dawned at Concord,” explained the man who should have jumped ship years ago in the dead of the night.

“But if they flop again this year, I really am doing it. I’m throwing in the towel and getting on the Dolphins.”

“Fins up baby.”

More to come.
