A proud Catholic Priest is a little perturbed this morning, after his prayers to God were ruined by the full throttle roar of an GTR Nissan Skyline.

The Advocate understands that at 9:10am this morning, Father Patrick O’Sullivan was leading the school assembly in prayer at St Johns Catholic School for Boys, when he was interrupted by a local hoon out for a burn.

Witnesses say Father Patrick only got as far as “Hallowed be thy name” before his prayers were drowned out by the throbbing sounds of the Skylines ceramic turbochargers reaching max capacity.

“Ahem…” coughed Father Patrick, clearing his throat in clear dissatisfaction.

“Let us start again…”

Making matters worse, it can be revealed that several senior students in the assembly instantly recognised that the car belonged to one Harlee Jacob-Smith (18), a former student who had recently dropped out of Year 12 to undertake an apprenticeship at Betoota South Mechanic and Auto.

“Ohhh that’s Harlee’s Skyline alright, it’s the only one in town,” said year 12 student Liam Edwards.

“He dropped out last year but it sounds like he’d doing pretty well for himself, that new exhaust he chucked on last week sounds fat as!”

Attempting to launch into the morning’s bible reading, Father Patrick’s religious start to the day was reportedly again thwarted, as young Harlee decided to do another lap around the block for old times sake.

Gazing up at the ageing speaker system drilled into the collapsing school hall, Father Patrick reportedly made a mental note to raise the need for a tech update at the next School P&C meeting.

Unable to clearly read from the Gospel according to Luke without being drowned by the Nissan Skyline, Father Patrick looked up at a crumbling statue of St Mary and begged for a sign of salvation.

“Lord help me…” he whispered unto himself.

More to come.
