Despite being in one of the hottest countries in the world, Betoota Heights woman Heather Mills has never been able to be anything other than pasty pale.

Preferring the term ‘porcelain’ rather than ‘pasty’, Heather admits that her pride often took a hit during the summer months, as it was impossible to go anywhere without seeing perfectly olive pins.

Heather’s problems are further exacerbated by the fact that she is one of the few natural gingers found in Queensland.

“Five minutes in the sun and I’m scorched.”

“Tried putting tan over my sunburn once. Ended up looking like Neapolitan ice cream.”

To combat her glaringly white legs Heather says she’s become somewhat of a pants girl.

But the increasingly hot weather has pushed Heather to go out of her comfort zone and invest in her first-ever pair of shorts.

“I usually can’t wear white because I end up looking like a floating flame.”

After some deep consideration, Heather theorised that the pair of shorts should look okay once she got a tan and at 70% off she’d be stupid not to buy it.

More to come.
