The Betoota Advocate would like to apologise to our loyal readership for an unfortunate publishing decision that was made public over the weekend.

On Friday the 31st of July, Our debut “weekly news wrap” was released via podcast on our website.

It would seem The Advocate’s synopsis of both the Adam Goodes saga and a follow-up on the 2015 Splendour In The Grass festival struck a cord with international audiences, after being picked up by Arabic news and current affairs satellite TV channel, Al Jazeera.

In just under four hours, our website hosted over 22 million unique visitors from all across the world. Just short of the entire Australian population.

After an overly successful transition into online streaming, our ill-prepared regional newspaper was unable to carry that kind of hysteria and the server promptly crashed. Leaving die-hard readers unable to access content.

As a result, we have decided to release this particular podcast, and all of our future podcasts, through the iconic online audio streaming service SoundCloud – As seen below.

Once again, we apologise for anyone who may have had trouble visiting our website over the weekend, but please enjoy our free podcast below. The podcast that broke the Betoota.
