In some very unwelcome news for Formula 1 fans, it can be revealed that the Alpine contract disaster has now been sorted out without the need for a court date, as a well known Aussie polymath has officially confirmed he’ll be overtaking Fernando Alonso’s place.

This of course, refers to the absolute PR disaster from Alpine last week, who tweeted out that Oscar Piastri would make his debut with them for the 2023 season, to which he quickly refuted with a slamming tweet.

“I understand that, without my agreement, Alpine F1 have put out a press release late this afternoon that I am driving for them next year. This is wrong and I have not signed a contract with Alpine for 2023. I will not be driving for Alpine next year.”

Reports have now suggested the F2 champion plans to sign on with McLaren as Daniel Ricciardo’s replacement, which would be the only reason he would knock back the opportunity to debut in F1.

Though there has been some whispers of Ricciardo replacing Alonso, it can now be reported that Alpine has finally settled on a suitable Aussie to race in 2023 – former Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

Despite both teams seemingly finding a solution to all of this drama, it’s highly likely the Formula 1 chaos will get even more juicy now that Morrison is on board.

More to come.
