As the end of another questionably justified year begins to worm it’s way into the history books, many members of humankind are understandably feeling a bit upset.

However, that feeling of hopelessness can suck a chode for now as the downtrodden flock to Instagram in the desperate hope of boosting their mood.

Once an app that stored pictures of food for public record, Instagram is now a TikTok curation system that also allows users to upload photos and videos as well.

The app boasts roughly one billion monthly users who come from all walks of life, each seemingly much better than the one you’re living now.

Although popping onto Instagram to improve your mood might be a tad like drinking sea water to quench your thirst, Instagram user Rach Strine (31) reckons she might see something that will cheer her up this time.

“Just a quick look,” stated Strine before beginning two hours of dead-eyed scrolling with zero awareness of her surroundings.

“Shit man. Everyone is getting married and having kids and like I’m still here. Maybe I’m wasting my life. Is any of this ever gonna happen for me?”

“What’s the point of any of this anyway?”

“Oh, look at this video lol”

“Funny hey”
