A law firm in the immaculately paved streets of Betoota’s Old City District has today spoken to The Advocate about a big change taking place in their office.

Causing a bit of a stir in the legal fraternity this week, HunterMinter & Woodesons have revealed a swathe of new sleeping pods across the 7 floors of their offices.

Employing over 200 lawyers, HunterMinter & Woodesons said the new additions are aimed at improving ‘efficiency’ across the workforce.

“Now our junior lawyers won’t have to waste time doing things like going home to sleep,” said Warwick Whitely-Smith, a partner at the firm.

“Think of it like a cool new Japanese style hostel, right on your deskstep!”

Warwick Whitely-Smith said the new pods will allow the carrot chasing members of staff to take their billables to the next level, by utilising another few hours of their day.

“Ideally, those who want to make Junior Partner can now show their work ethic off 24 hours a day!” said the man who makes a portion of what his employees generate in 6 minute increments.

“We obviously provide them with free dinner, exercise classes and showers,” he said.

“And now they can enjoy the hospitality of a free roof over their heads.”

When asked about the ability for lawyers to set up shop in the pods, Whitely-Smith admitted that the pods are only open from 1:00am to 5:00am.

“Sure, it’s not exactly late checkout, but no junior lawyer should need more than 4 hours of sleep.”

It’s been confirmed that the doors open one hour after midnight and then an alarm blares in the pod at 5:00am for 10 minutes before locking for the day.

“Trust me, you don’t want to deal with the shame of finding yourself locked in the pod for the day,” laughed Whitely-Smith.

“Just one lock in could set you back years from a promotion.”
