The Betoota Heights Tavern has today responded to the negative publicity surrounding a significant change at the venue.

The owner of the venue has revealed that the floor price of house schooners has been raised due to circumstances out of his control.

“Haven’t been reading the news have we? There’s a war going on,” said the proud owner of 44 Brickies Laptops.

“That’s why we’ve had to raise the price of Glass Sandwiches. We are just pushing on the cost,” he continued.

After a long history of always offering at least one sub $6 schooner option, the venue known as the Tap-Out Tav has now upped the price of their cheapest schooners to $7.80 – a move that has not been received well.

“What do you want me to do, it’s all the supply chain issues that are driving up the cost of kegs,” lied the owner who has contracts with the two major conglomerates who produce beer on Australian shores.

“I know, it sucks, but that’s just the reality of the times we live in now,” continued the man who seems to be joining plenty of other business people in upping the price of shit under the vague premise of the war in Ukraine.

“Take your anger out on that Putin, it’s got nothing to do with me,” he said pouring the last $7.80 schooner of the round.

“That will be $35.20 for the four beers, thanks mate”
