With a week to the day until the Race That Stops The Nation, it seems the Victorian Police are getting right into the spirit of things!

This comes as the maligned southern police service today ordered majority of Melbourne’s mounted cops to charge into a volatile crowd of climate protestors, in what has been described as a very Victorian Police way of de-escalating the situation.

Hundreds of activists from 11 different groups tried to block off the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from about 6am to stop the three-day International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC).

Violent clashes erupted between protesters and riot police outside a mining conference in Melbourne, where one demonstrator repeatedly spat on the oppressed billionaires arriving at the venue – as crowds tried to block entrances to the venue.

At least 20 people arrested as the Victorian Police work diligently to improve their reputation as trigger happy mercenaries, and only decided to let off the pepper spray this afternoon.

In the midst of Melbourne’s Spring Carnival, it seems the police are following the lead of Australia’s horse-racing industry, and injuring their own warmbloods in the name of keeping their sponsors happy.

Much like what is to be expected at next week’s Melbourne cup, the mining executives clapped politely behind glass as the police horses were exhausted and overworked trudging through climate protestors.

Protestors says that while excessive, they are glad the Victorian police only hit them with the pepper spray and horses, and not the taser and live rounds of ammunition like they do to mentally ill people during mental routine health checks.
