A number of communities in northern NSW have been put on standby to evacuate this afternoon as floodwater continues to rise across much of the region.

Two flood-related deaths have been recorded.

One near Murwillumbah —  best known as Iggy Azalea’s home town — and another in the Hunter region, with grave fears for a further four who were been reported missing earlier this week.

Lismore is also suffering a significant flood event, with much of the town leaving while they could earlier this week. The Pacific Highway is also cut near Tweed Heads.

In addition to this, two people from television are set to be married today in Kangaroo Valley – in the Sydney Southern Highlands.

More to come.
