Scott Morrison has raised a few eyebrows this morning and taken the spat with China to the next level.
After a few days of tit for tat with the new world superpower who could potentially cripple our economy, the Prime Minister has today decided to turn up to a press conference wearing Mack Horton’s famous Gold Medal.
His actions today to aggravate the Chinese Government follow his public declaration that an independent investigation is needed into the cause and outbreak of the Covid-19 virus, and his private rallying of other world leaders to push that issue.
Those actions have understandably angered the Chinese government who are slowly growing accustomed to having their own way on the majority of issues that are important to them, and Morrison has this morning doubled down with another very thinly veiled jab.
“Yeah, you guys like this haha,” he laughed motioning to the Gold Medal draped around his neck.
“Mack Horton’s. You know, that stupid gweilo who beat that drug cheat Sun Yang,” he continued.
“Remember the Chinese media, which is run by the government, said that he was clean as a whistle?”
“I think it sends a pretty clear message where we stand on this coronavirus investigation issue don’t you?”
Morrison then continued on with the other things he needed to say about restrictions, government policy and so on.
His media team have confirmed that they are currently working frantically to delete thousands of ‘eat kangaroo shit,’ style social media comments as we got to press.
