Staring lovingly at the body imprint left on her memory foam mattress, Betoota Heights woman Charlise Keaton, 32, tries to hold back her tears.

Had you told her a few months ago that she’d be getting triggered by her mattress, she would have laughed at you.

But there it was, the physical version of those horrendous Facebook memories that only ever seem to come up when you’re feeling your worst.

His imprint. Paul’s imprint.

Having splashed out a cool $1K for the honour of owning a memory foam mattress, it appears that the only memories it holds are sad ones.

“Oh Paul”, she whispers, pressing her fingers into one particular deep groove, smack bang in the middle of the mattress, “where did it all go wrong?”

“I should call him.”

More to come.
