A group of Betoota men without much in common apart from their Y chromosomes and track record of procreation have bonded over another shared interest today.

Knowing that an isolated emotionally repressed regional Australian man is a bad thing, in 2018 a group of Betoota Heights dads decided to be emotionally repressed regional Australian men together.

Initially bonding over the importance of positive mental health, the group dubbed themselves the Dangerously Underappreciated Dad’s Society (DUDS) because a serious name would have been gay.

Nearly six years and one serious chat about mental health later, the DUDS continue to be close chums, cherishing one another and appreciating just exactly how they are each other’s audience.

“Now I’m not saying that Mitch here is unlucky,” started a dad who wishes to remain anonymous (if they ever find where his wife buries him haha).

“But if he fell into a barrel of boobs he’d come out sucking his own dick and balls!”

A hearty round of laughter followed the unnamed dad’s derivative joke, settling only when it was time for another dad to have his go on the collective hot audience.

“I tell ya, that’s a skill that would be handy some nights, especially every night for the past 17 years!”

This turn-based joke session continued for many hours until our reporting team decided it was time to go home and was farewelled by a chorus of ‘never get married mate’.

MORE TO COME.
