A local father of three named Graham Ozil has today asked The Advocate to put a fork in him.

The request comes after the Betoota Ponds resident had his daughter confront him on a controversial dog related issue.

“Mate, she (his daughter) just told me and her mother that we need to look after her dog for the next few hours,” he sighed.

“Which is fine I guess,” explained the ‘dogs shouldn’t be in the house’ kind of operator.

“I said no problem, but I asked why her new dog couldn’t just stay at home while she goes and drinks too many cocktails with the girls?”

“And why I needed to let her in to collect the dog whenever she decides to pull up stumps some time after midnight”

“Then she goes and drops it on me.”

“The dog has anxiety,” he sighed, shaking his head and staring off into the distance.

“Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those toughen up kind of blokes who just believes everyone should look on the bright side of life and get on with it.”

“But, come on.”

“Telling me her 4 month old puppy can’t stay at home by himself for a few hours because he has anxiety.”

“Give me a fucking break.”

“That will do me.”

The issue in the Ozil household reportedly caused a bit of a stir, with Graham’s wife also seeming unsure about being lumped with ‘babysitting duties’ for a poorly trained puppy.

“She’s given us a bedtime routine for the dog.”

“She refuses to settle down and give us grandkids because it’s too much of a commitment, but she’s putting this much time and energy into a dog.”

“I don’t know…”

“I just don’t know where we wen’t wrong.”

More to come.
