Despite being invented to streamline the car parking process, car park light assistants have failed yet again to offer the correct availability in a Betoota underground car park, it has been confirmed.

Local woman Issy Prenald entered Westfield’s P4 at about 12:00pm yesterday and was greeted by a sea of dotted green lights, supposedly indicating that there were a number of free car spaces for Issy to park in.

However, after visiting each one of these alleged vacant spaces, Issy soon realised that these park assist lights were lying scum.

“I don’t get it, what’s the point of having them if they don’t work?”

“I can understand if a motor bike doesn’t register, but a Holden Colorado? If the light can’t pick up that there’s one of them parked in front of it then what’s the point?”

“I’d rather drive into a car park and have the whole thing showing unavailability than to get my hopes up from a faulty light.”

Lobbyists for the multinational conglomerate behind the the deceitful Car Park Assist lights say they are well aware of how unreliable their product is, but blamed most of the mix up on the fact that the Holden Colorado isn’t really a real 4WD.

“I mean, no offence to Colorado owners, but I’m sure it would pick up a Hilux or Prado” said one spokesperson.
