Astrid Paulson (31) has only been back in Australia for 38 days, and is still catching up with friends that she hasn’t seen since before she embarked for a 30 day European holiday of a lifetime.

While taking the long weekend as a chance to catch up with some friends who have unfortunately had to spend their entire Winter in Australia, Astrid appears to be struggling to with transition back into day-to-day social graces.

“Mwa mwa” she says, while greeting a friend who hasn’t been to Sardinia before, let alone during Summer.

As her friend awkwardly misses the cue to go in for a second kiss, Astrid breaks into laughter.

“Oh my God. [haha]” she says.

“I’m just so used to Europe. Even guys kiss each other twice over there”

When it comes to Astrid integrating back into Australian culture, it is pretty clear that old habits die-hard. But the two-cheek kisses are just the start of it. Apparently eating dinner

“It’s really weird having dinner at like 7:30 each night. In Italy and Spain they don’t eat dinner until like 2 am. Cafes are open all the time, it’s so much different”

As all of her friends sit down to lunch, Astrid takes a sip of a glass of mid-range red wine that somebody just poured for her.

“Haha. Argggh.. So not used to drinking Australian wine.” she says.

“The wine in Tuscany actually pairs well with any meal”
