Exaggerating your financial situation in life is part of human nature, isn’t it?

It could be a small lie, saying you own your car outright when really you’re paying off a $35,000 loan each month.

Or saying the new designer coat you bought with cash for $1,300.00 was something you could easily afford, when really you’re now skipping meals to pay this month’s rent, and that’s even with the purchase being made through AfterPay.

While I’ve never done it, as a financial expert advisor I’ve heard countless situations where people have embellished their financial situation in life and it’s come back to bite them, hard.

For me, I don’t need to exaggerate anything. I’m a multi-millionaire with over 1,000 investment properties.

I have a multi-million dollar shares portfolio and a master’s degree in finance. Why else do you think that after one look at my resume The Advocate took me on to be their financial advice expert?

But for those people who do hyperbolise, take my advice, stop it!

If your friends ask you how you managed to afford that 6 week holiday to Europe this year, and you tell them you ‘saved’ for it, when really you put it all on credit card, when you do eventually turn to them for money to get you out of the financial quagmire you’ve put yourself in, then they’re going to hate you.

You don’t want that.

Or like what happened to me, I mean, my friend. My friend invested tens of thousands of his parents’ money into Bitcoin and told them he’d pay them back within 6 months, because Bitcoin was a sure thing.

But then the entire crypto market crashed and his parents said, “Chet, we’re cutting you off this time, son. It’s for your own good.”

I mean, my friend.

My friend, Chet.

He and I have the same name, that’s what made us friends in the first place.

I don’t exaggerate.

The thing is, his parents have really cut him off this time, and his trust fund is shrinking by the day.

It’s quite frightening actually.

For him, I mean.

I imagine for him it’s quite frightening.

If his parents really do stick to their guns, then he could be forced to find a full time proper job in the next couple of years.

Talk about the chickens coming home to roost.

Fucking crypto.
