The nation has let out a sad, collective shrug today, after a court confirmed that Russell Brand is in fact a vile piece of shit.

While pretty much everyone was aware that the 'comedian' turned online noise merchant was pretty crook, the confirmation that he will be going to jail for a significant period of time has come as a welcome reminder that there are consequences for actions.

Brand has been found guilty of raping a fan and sexually assaulting three other women, with the police revealing he is now under investigation for two other rape allegations.

He will face a long time in jail as a result of the findings, with sentencing on Monday - despite the weird Christian rebrand the rapist piece of shit attempted to hoodwink the world with.

Putting aside his cooked views on a lot of different things for obvious reasons, allegations of his predatory sexual behaviour emerged not long after the turn of the millennium - with persistent noise around sexual harassment, abuse, assault and coercive control lingering for decades.

Finally, a couple of decades after he probably should have been dealt with, Brand has now met with the force of the law, in news that pretty much everyone saw coming.

The court has also confirmed that water is wet, and the Pope is Catholic.
