A local man has gone and done it this week.
Bill Brooks (32) from our town’s post-gentrified French Quarter has etched his name into folklore within his wider friendship circle, after pulling off a Napoleonesque conquest.
Kicking his feet up on the dual screened desk at work, Brooksy has marvelled at the final pieces of his master spreadsheet coming together for his spring 2027 Eastern Seaboard offensive.
“Let’s call it the Men’s Rugby World Cup Campaign,” he laughed, after demanding our reporter come and take a look.
“You see, it’s not like the other World Cups, where you can just get tickets on the day. You’ve got people coming from all over the world for trips of a lifetime, so painstaking planning needed to go into it.”
“Many hours waited in queues for the best games, directing my generals from the group chat to nab the right tickets, pulling it all together into one cohesive operation. Pretty impressive if I must say so myself.”
The noted doer of his friendship group confirmed it was a bit of a nightmare herding cats, but he knows he’ll be thankful in the end.
“Perfect balance too I reckon,” he said.
“Couple nice games in Brissy and Melbourne with all the partners.”
“And then what will be a rather large long weekend bouncing down to Newy and then on to Sydney with the boys” he laughed.
“Uruguay v Portugal on the Hill in Newy, into town, yummy yum yum (sic), couple VCRs, quiet and low energy train down to Sydney the next day and then full noise for the Paddies and Pastel de natas on Monday night at the SFS.”
“I’m not sure you can script a better long weekend than that, can you.”
“Dreamy stuff.”
