A Tigers fan has been relieved to discover that he is still living in reality and not in a state of psychosis like was starting to suspect.
Drummoyne native Felix Mercer (60) started getting suspicious about his state of reality after his beloved Tigers had done the unthinkable and actually won a few games back to back.
"I was starting to get worried that I may have had a mental breakdown and the last 6 weeks were all in my head" explained Felix.
"Because, you know, being a Tigers fans can put quite a lot of strain on one's mental health. It's not hard to believe that some of us could break"
After Sunday's thumping of the Tigers by the Sharks many Tigers fans have sighed a breath of relief with the familiar taste of crushing defeat has reassured them that they are living in the real world.
"It was a relief if anything" said one Tigers fan.
"I was beginning to feel like I was living in some sort of Truman show experiment" another said.
“The second we started dropping balls and missing tackles, I just felt this wave of calm” he added.
“I thought, yep, there it is. That’s real.”
Felix confirmed that he is now confident he has not lost his grip on reality, and that the previous six weeks were not a hallucination, but a rare moment of Tigers success.
“I can relax again” he added.
“Footy makes sense. The world makes sense.”
