The Sydney Swans have secured their second place on the AFL ladder this week, as the full-time whistle blows on their round 24 match against North Melbourne.

The final score was 17.2 (120) to 10.10 (70) - with the blood-soaked angels winning by 63 hard-earned points against the 14th-placed Kangaroos.

This euphoria has only been sweetened by the news that the club's AFLW side has taken down Essendon 66-42 in front of a record-breaking home crowd.

It took the Sydney Swans club years to join the AFL-W competition, and today has only proven that it should've happened much sooner - because, as we now know, 'The Bloods' champion women.

But while two comprehensive wins at a double header may be what some clubs view as the best round of the year - the celebrations don't just end there.

Medium forward Braeden Campbell has just notched 100 games.

With the golden sun setting over the SCG, and the of Darlinghurst and Paddington opening their doors to a sea of red and white - it feels like no better time for the players to turn on a bender of historic proportions.

With the first official week of the finals not starting until September 3 - the boys have more than enough time to recover from a 24-hour bender in a highly visible and extremely central four-star hotel.

With the homeground advantage, the boys could order a few packets off their usual guys, and fire off the DMs to some very lucky locals who would give everything to join them on this out-of-control all-nighter blow out to celebrate their valiant effort in dismantling the North Melbourne Kangaroos in round 24.

However, the boys are smarter than that nowadays. Even if it makes perfect sense for them to begin furiously binge-drinking and sniffing rails of Bondi marching powder... They've cautiously decided to give it a miss.

Instead, they'll all have to go home to their free-standing beachside family homes and spend the evening with their loving wives and girlfriends.

There is no greater sign that the boys are locked in for the flag. 2026 might be their year after all.
