Head noise is blaring in the mind of a local girl this evening as she dares calculate the cost of an horrendous hangover.
Plonked on the couch in trackies, watching reruns of Gilmore Girls and slurping the dregs of a smoothie delivered from UberEats, 29 year old Brodie Haynesworth is a few scrolls into her bank app, wondering how she’s managed to delete this weeks grocery allowance before the week has even started.
After going a little too hard last night, hopping between two 30th birthday parties, the local paralegal has told our reporters she’s been trying to outrun the pain, by frivolously spending upwards of $50 alone on liquids.
Scrolling through her bank app, Brodie could only wince at the sight of every line item transaction prodded at her bubbling guts.
“Pain killers and the Gatorade from the 7/11, that was $14.90.
Then I did a juice and an almond croissant from the markets, that was another $23.”
“Wow, I did spend a lot today…”
Remembering that she also owes funds to mates who covered her brunch bill, Brodie could only cry, realising there’s no way she’s now got the spare cash to click buy on any of the things sitting idle in her online shopping carts.
“For Gods sake,” Brodie whined, “I owe $45 to Gemma for coffee, juice and those corn fritters that weren’t any good.”
“Plus none of last night’s Ubers have hit my account either. I’m just going to go to bed and worry about it tomorrow.”
More pain to come.
