Bush Rugby Club Dismantles Grand Final Opponents By Also Taking Out The Boat Race

Celebrations are beginning to gather steam down at Oval No. 2 this afternoon as the Betoota Mutts 3rd grade squad bathe in premiership glory.

Breaking a 14 year premiership drought with a 15-8 win over the Eromanga Lions, tonight is expected to be a big one for the local side of fitters and plumbers, who’ve been starved of touching silverware in over a decade.

It was a hard earned victory for the Mutts who were outnumbered for most of the second half following a red card worthy spear tackle, and subsequent punch ons with several Lions players.

But now with the game done and their tails up, it’s believed the Mutts have truly broken the spirits of local graziers from Eromanga, after also dismantling the side in the traditional boat race.

Speaking to Mutts captain coach Darius Horwell, winning today was important, but proving they also cut piss faster than those wimps from Ero, felt even better.

“Cha-hoooo”, Darius screamed, as he shotgunned a can of Rivet lager and crushed it under his wide fit leather footy boots.

“Grand Finals aye? I’ve lost three, got concussed in another, but never won one. Hard feeling to beat aye?”

Dissecting today's performance, both on the field and off it, Eromanga hooker Jason “Filthy” Philston admits they’ll be plenty of grog sunk this evening, to heal the wounds of a premiership that was oh so close.

“Been undefeated all year, so to fall apart in that 80 minutes… bloody disappointing.”

“We’ll get on the bus back to Eromanga, and we’ve got enough piss to drown a fish, so hopefully by the time we reach home most of us won’t even remember our own last names.”
